With its power tri-folding platform, the Vangater Series solves the problem of wheelchair access and ambulatory entry. Over half the van’s side door is available for easy ambulatory access when the wheelchair lift is in the stowed position. With the touch of a button quickly unfolds the platform, revealing a fully functional wheelchair lift in a compact package. For passenger comfort, the front seat can recline fully, a feature unique to wheelchair lifts mounted inside the vehicle.
The Vangater wheelchair lift is designed to convert a standard full-sized van into a roomy, wheelchair accessible vehicle. A model is also available for installation in minivans. Please see your local BraunAbility dealer for application details.
This vertical wheelchair lift is fully electric in operation, for both the fold/unfold and up/down cycles. Lift operation is controlled by the standard hand held control, the on-lift controls, or the optional remote control.
To ensure the safety of the wheelchair user, the Vangater wheelchair lift incorporates several safety features. An electric roll stop engages before the lift platform will rise from the ground, and a threshold sensor mat inside the wheelchair accessible van warns the user against exiting when the wheelchair lift is not level with the floor of the van.

The Millennium wheelchair lift platform is VA accepted and fully NHTSA compliant. Note that longer platforms will require raised doors – see your BraunAbility Dealer for details.

Outboard Roll Stop
For your safety, the hydraulic roll stop raises to the vertical position before the platform leaves the ground. Special sensors prevent the platform from raising if the roll stop is not fully engaged. The standard side-entry feature allows boarding of the platform even in tight parking situations.
Switch Arm
The lift’s switch arm features an up/down control, allowing the wheelchair user to control the handicapped lift while on the platform. The “level” switch adjusts the tilt of the platform as needed.
Threshold Warning Plate
With the lift for a wheelchair in the stowed position, over half of the van’s side door is available for ambulatory use as well as cargo.
Optional Door Operators
The optional automatic door operators give you complete control of your mobility. The doors can be opened and closed with all standard and optional van lift controls.
Hydraulic Power Pack
The compact hydraulic power pack features on-lift controls that operate every function of the lift. For your peace of mind, a manual backup allows you to control the lift easily, even in the event of vehicle electrical failure.
