Huntsville Wheelchair Friendly Places to Visit
The U.S. Space and Rocket Center: Known as “Earth’s Largest Space Museum”, this museum located in Huntsville is a ‘space enthusiast’s’ dream. With lots of large walkways and ramps, everyone can explore the museum the same way, wheelchair or not.
Huntsville Botanical Garden: Open year-round, this botanical garden has the nation’s largest seasonal butterfly house as well as eight specialized gardens. Mostly all of the gardens are handicap accessible with free wheelchairs available for use as well.
Huntsville Museum of Art: For the art lover in all of us, from temporary exhibits to their permanent collection, it is all so unique and beautiful it is worth a look. It is very easy to get around the museum in a scooter or wheelchair.
AM Booth’s Lumberyard: This 120-year-old building is home to restaurants, live music, large patios and lots of plant and garden life. Easy to navigate this welcoming space in a wheelchair or other mobile mode of transportation.

Rock City: A great place to view 7 states from one vantage point. There is a wheelchair accessible trail as well as native plant gardens to see.
Oconee River: Beautiful river views, a yummy deli (Ocoee Dam Deli), and wheelchair accessible paths to enjoy this beautiful scenery.
Tennessee Riverpark: This lovely park has a trail that spans 8 miles from Chattanooga to the Chickamauga Dam, easily wheelchair accessible with great views.
Bluff View Art District: Scenic and full of art, sounds great! This artsy district includes galleries, restaurants, museums and great views. The streets are smoothly paved to make it super easy and accessible.
