Great Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve – Visit the tallest dunes in North America and experience diverse landscapes consisting of grasslands, wetlands, conifer and aspen forests, alpine lakes, and tundra. Sand wheelchairs are available for adults and children, just request to book before your trip.
Denver Museum of Nature and Science: Since 1900 the Denver Museum of Nature and Science has occupied 500,000 square feet of space for rotating series of exhibits about anthropology, geology, space science, zoology and more. The entire museum is accessible and ADA compliant.
United States Mint - In 1863 the United States Mint opened its doors, this is one of the 4 located in entire country. Capable of producing 50 million coins in a day, it also stores large amounts of silver bullion. Wheelchair accessible tours are available, the Mint asks for these tours to be booked at least a week prior to coming.
Coors Brewery Tour – A producer of beer, the MillerCoors brewery is located 15 miles from Denver. Founded in 1855, was opened as a brewery in 1873. Accessible tours are available, the brewery asks accessible tours be booked in advance so they can make proper preparations.

Adaptive Sports Association’s (ASA) - A non-profit organization located at the foot of the San Juan Mountains.
Wilderness on Wheels Foundation – “WWOF’s mission is to stimulate the development of access for disabled persons to natural outdoor environments.” WOW foundation built a 1-mile, 8-foot-wide boardwalk that starts are 9,100 feet and goes to the top of a 12,300-foot mountain outside of Denver, lots of scenery to enjoy. Open May 15 to October 15 (weather depending) from 9am to 6pm. Free to hike the boardwalk there are also fishing and camping at the sites, as well as overnight cabins.
Colorado Discover Ability – “To increase the independence, self-confidence, self-worth and education of people with disabilities, their family and friends, through outdoor recreation” is the mission of Colorado Discover Ability.
Colorado Adaptive Sports Foundation – “Aims to bolster independence, improve self-confidence, elevate social interaction and enhance quality of life through organized team sports.” People of all ages and disabilities can join CASF.
